To prepare our students to meet the demands of a competitive global economy, we base our instruction on standards for each academic curricular area. We utilize the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for all CORE content areas as well as the California Standards in social studies and science.

California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) measures student progress in different subjects. It helps teachers monitor the needs and successes of individual students as they progress toward mastery of the state adopted standards. We participate in the regular following testing of SUSD students:

• Arts/Literacy and Mathematics

• California Alternate Assessments (CAAs)

• California Science Test (CAST)

• Primary Language Assessment

• Physical Fitness Testing (PFT)

• English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)
